SIX7*8th is excited to have you join in on all the fun we've created for you on our website! We want you to have a safe place in cyberspace to spend some time, so we fully commit ourselves to protecting your privacy.
We do our best to limit the information we require and never abuse what is provided to us. The policies outlined below were created to inform visitors about information we sometimes request and how we use it. It is important that parents and tweens review these policies together, prior to entering any information on this website, to determine what is appropriate for each family.
Every girl is welcome to experience the SIX7*8th website without providing any information. But our website was created to encourage interaction and sometimes actively (i.e., never passively collects information through use of cookies, etc.) collects information from the website visitor to coordinate an activity. In an effort to deliver security and integrity of personal information, the information we request will always be limited to what is absolutely necessary. For some activities the information will be non-personally identifiable (e.g., grade, hobby), but there will also be times that identifiable information is requested in order to conduct the activity. For example, contests and giveaways will require the email addresses for the entrant and a parent. This information is to notify the winner and contact the parent to inform him/her of the tween's participation. For article submissions, an email address may be requested in the event confirmation or clarity of information is required. For our email newsletter, an email address is requested to deliver the newsletter, and the grade is requested to help SIX7*8th customize information that suits the majority of our recipients. SIX7*8th cannot condition participation in any activity on any tween providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for the activity.
SIX7*8th does not disclose any personally identifiable information to third parties. The information we collect is used for (1) communication when necessary, (2) coordinating activities, and (3) is occasionally kept on file for internal use.
1) SIX7*8th often receives unsolicited emails from magazine readers and website visitors (e.g., letters to the editor, requests for additional information on their favorite features, follow up questions to a contest, etc.). In instances, where personally identifiable information has been sent to us unsolicited, the information is used to respond to questions/requests and deleted once we have sent a response. If the correspondence requires multiple contacts, a parent's email address will be requested and SIX7*8th will contact the parent for consent to continue or cease communication.
2) SIX7*8th's online contests and giveaways require an email address for the entrant and a parent. Winners are notified via email that they are the winning entrant and that we have sent their parent an email requiring approval for prize receipt. The parent of a winner will be contacted via email (at the address provided at the time of entry). The notification will ask that the parent approve the entry and provide a mailing address for prize delivery via a direct email to the publisher at publisher@six78th.com. The parent will also be informed they have the option to have the tween's entry deleted. Once the activity is complete, SIX7*8th deletes any personal information collected.
3) SIX7*8th collects information for internal use and records. If a tween submits a request for our email newsletter, their email and grade will be kept on file to continually deliver the email newsletter and better serve our demographic by tailoring the newsletters to the majority of our recipients, based on grade.

SIX7*8th respects the authority of all parents and will gladly offer you the information we have on file for your child, for you to review or request deletion.
